 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. COAS' DEATH: IGP SHELVES ALL PERSONAL, SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS IN HONOUR OF LATE LT. GEN LAGBAJA


Commiserates with Family, Nigerian Government, Armed Forces 


The Nigeria Police Force is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja on November 5, 2024. To pay tribute, the Inspector-General of Police has cancelled led all non-essential personal and social engagements and non-urgent commitments for the next two days.


General Lagbaja was a highly respected figure, known for his tireless efforts in combating insurgency, armed banditry, and violent extremism. His dedication to the Nigerian Army and the nation earned him great admiration. The Inspector-General's gesture reflects the deep respect and appreciation for General Lagbaja's remarkable service. 


The Nigeria Police Force extends its heartfelt condolences to Mr president and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and General Lagbaja's family, colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult time. His legacy and commitment to Nigeria's security will never be forgotten.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
