 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. FEDERAL HIGH COURT TO BEGIN YULTIDE VACATION ON DECEMBER 16.(PHOTO).


 Federal High Court to Begin Yuletide Vacation on December 16


The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho, has announced that the court's 2024 yuletide vacation will begin on December 16, 2024. 


According to a circular signed by the Chief Judge and released on Wednesday, the vacation will end on January 6, 2025, with court proceedings resuming on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, across all judicial divisions.


As stipulated by Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended), the vacation period will only accommodate urgent matters, including cases related to the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and matters of significant national interest.


During the vacation, only the core judicial divisions—Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt—will remain operational to handle such urgent matters. 


The vacation judges for each division have been appointed as follows:

- Abuja Division: Justices Emeka Nwite and M.S. Liman

- Lagos Division: Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac Dipeolu

- Port Harcourt Division: Justices P.M. Ayua and A.T. 


These judges will handle litigation throughout the holiday period.
