 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Federal High Court to Begin Yuletide Vacation on December 16


The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho, has announced that the court's 2024 yuletide vacation will begin on December 16, 2024. 


According to a circular signed by the Chief Judge and released on Wednesday, the vacation will end on January 6, 2025, with court proceedings resuming on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, across all judicial divisions.


As stipulated by Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended), the vacation period will only accommodate urgent matters, including cases related to the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and matters of significant national interest.


During the vacation, only the core judicial divisions—Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt—will remain operational to handle such urgent matters. 


The vacation judges for each division have been appointed as follows:

- Abuja Division: Justices Emeka Nwite and M.S. Liman

- Lagos Division: Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac Dipeolu

- Port Harcourt Division: Justices P.M. Ayua and A.T. 


These judges will handle litigation throughout the holiday period.
