 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. FG HAS ANNOUNCED THE PROMOTION OF 331 DIRECTORS WITHIN THE FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE. (PHOTO).



 The Federal Government has announced the promotion of 331 directors within the federal civil service.


These newly appointed directors were part of a pool of 697 candidates who participated in the oral interviews held on November 4, 2024.


Earlier, in May 2024, the Federal Civil Service Commission had issued a notification regarding the promotion and evaluation process for senior civil servants at Grade Levels 14, 15, and 16.


The written assessments for the promotion process took place from August 12 to August 17, 2024.


Following the written exams, the Civil Service Commission called in those who passed for oral interviews on October 11, 2024, and subsequently released an additional list of candidates on October 21, 2024.


The final list of promotions was released in a memo signed by Prof. Tunji Olaopa, Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission.


“Following the Year 2024 Directorate Level Promotion/Evaluation Exercise, the Federal Civil Service Commission has approved the promotion of the following Officers in the Federal Civil Service from Salary Grade Levels 14 to 15, 15 to 16, and 16 to 17, effective January 1, 2024,” stated Olaopa in the memo.
