 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1.  Government Day Secondary School Dutse has emerged victorious at the Dancing Competition of 12th China-Nigeria Cultural Fiesta 2024


The event held in Abuja amongst secondary schools was to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of China


The Cultural Counselor, Embassy of China and Director, China Cultural Center, Mr. Yang Jianxing said young people are the hope of the nation and enjoined the students to work hard to become good representatives of their country. 


The Representative of the Secretary FCT Secondary Education Board, Fatima Babba Gambo thanked the China Cultural Center for their unwavering support for schools in the FCT.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
