 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1.  Man in Police Net For Stabbing Brother's Wife

One Nnamdi Nnebe from Umuokpu Awka is currently in police custody for stabbing his elder brother's wife.


In what started as a minor misunderstanding, Mrs Njideka Nnebe, the survivor of the knife attack stated that the culprit who parked his keke in their compound saw kids playing inside his tricycle but mistook one of the kids as her son.


The survivor explained that after a minor exchange of words, the assailant went inside his apartment and brought a knife but because she defended with her hand, she got stabbed on her hand instead. 


Reacting to the incident at the hospital during her visit to the survivor, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Anambra State, Mrs Ify Obinabo assured that the ministry will follow-up on the case as the state government is now in-charge to give justice to the survivor.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
