 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. MRS BIANCA OJUKWU HAS OFFICIALLY ASSUMED OFFICE AS THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS. (PHOTOS)

 Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu has officially assumed office as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. 


Mrs Ojukwu was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, alongside top management and senior staff of the Ministry.


She pledged her commitment to building on the Tinubu administration’s "4D" foreign policy framework, which focuses on Democracy, Development, Diplomacy, and Diaspora.


The Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties globally and promoting sustainable international relationships.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
