 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. NPF MOURNS PASSING OF RETIRED AIG NJANGOR EGBE 


The Nigeria Police Force regrets to announce the passing of a distinguished officer, Assistant Inspector General of Police Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who departed this world on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 82.


AIG Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who passed away peacefully in his sleep, was born on March 15, 1942, in Etomi Village, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State. He joined the Nigeria Police Force and rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, earning a reputation for integrity, commitment, and selflessness throughout his career. He was also a one-time commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano. 


Beyond his professional achievements, AIG Njom was a devoted pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church, where he continued to serve diligently even after his retirement. He was a role model and mentor, impacting countless lives with his staunch principles and compassion. AIG Njom lived an exemplary life of service, dedication, and faith.


The Inspector General of Police and the entire Nigeria Police Force extend their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of loss. His legacy as an officer of distinction and a man of faith will remain an enduring source of inspiration.


May his soul rest in perfect peace.
