 Nonye Soludo highlights sports as a tool for youth character development Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has described sports as a powerful tool for character formation and social inclusion among youths in the society. Soludo made the assertion, yesterday, in Awka while flagging off the 2nd edition of the Nonye Soludo Volleyball Championship. The group stage of the championship will be concluded today, while the final will be decided on Saturday. She said the competition was aimed at promoting youth development, teamwork, and healthy competition through sports. She further explained that the tournament is part of efforts to positively engage young people, discover talents and encourage discipline and unity among youths in the state. “This competition will also serve as a platform for nurturing future volleyball stars.  Okpebholo Appoints Gani Audu as Chief of Staff


Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Gani Audu as his new Chief of Staff. 


The announcement was made through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, on Friday. The Governor expressed confidence that Audu’s appointment would contribute significantly to driving meaningful reforms in the state.


The statement read, "It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly the good people of Edo State, that Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Gani Audu as his Chief of Staff. The appointment takes immediate effect."


About Gani Audu:


Born on August 18, 1969, Gani Audu holds an HND from Auchi Polytechnic (1994), a PGD in Business Administration from Benson Idahosa University (2011), and an M.Sc. in Intelligence and Global Security from Baze University, Abuja (2024).


Audu has held several key positions, including serving as the Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council from 2004 to 2010, and as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly for Etsako West Constituency 1 from 2015 to 2023. He was also the deputy governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress in the 2020 Edo State Governorship election.
