 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. The Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway is a multi-state infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and economic activities across northern and southern Nigeria. More...

 President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday decorated Acting chief of army staff, Major General Olufemi Oluyede with the new rank of Lieutenant General.


Tinubu Promotes Acting COAS Oluyede To Lieutenant General Rank


President Bola Tinubu has promoted the acting Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Olufemi Oluyede, to Lt, General.


The President decorated Oluyede with his new rank conferring effective command authority on him in the Nigerian Army in a short ceremony at the President’s office, Aso Rock, Abuja.


Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy) Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Tuesday that the President assured the military that his government would always listen to their advice and keep the country on the path of peace and prosperity.


He also commended the military for its unwavering courage, dedication, and patriotism in maintaining the nation’s security.


The President said for while the country is facing challenges progress is being made.


The President attributed the success recorded in tackling terrorism and banditry to the “synergy’’ in the armed forces and urged the service chiefs to sustain harmony in their relationship for the betterment of the country.


Lt. Gen. Oluyede expressed deep gratitude and acknowledged the solemnity of the occasion. He reiterated his commitment to upholding the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and to maintaining peace across the country.
