 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday decorated Acting chief of army staff, Major General Olufemi Oluyede with the new rank of Lieutenant General.


Tinubu Promotes Acting COAS Oluyede To Lieutenant General Rank


President Bola Tinubu has promoted the acting Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Olufemi Oluyede, to Lt, General.


The President decorated Oluyede with his new rank conferring effective command authority on him in the Nigerian Army in a short ceremony at the President’s office, Aso Rock, Abuja.


Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy) Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Tuesday that the President assured the military that his government would always listen to their advice and keep the country on the path of peace and prosperity.


He also commended the military for its unwavering courage, dedication, and patriotism in maintaining the nation’s security.


The President said for while the country is facing challenges progress is being made.


The President attributed the success recorded in tackling terrorism and banditry to the “synergy’’ in the armed forces and urged the service chiefs to sustain harmony in their relationship for the betterment of the country.


Lt. Gen. Oluyede expressed deep gratitude and acknowledged the solemnity of the occasion. He reiterated his commitment to upholding the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and to maintaining peace across the country.
