Catholic Priests Not Like ‘Fake Bishops’, Atiku Blasts Presidency’s Attack On Onaiyekan Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the Presidency’s attack on the Catholic Church and John Cardinal Onaiyekan, accusing the President Bola Tinubu administration of growing intolerant of dissent and uncomfortable truths. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu on Sunday, Atiku said the Presidency chose intimidation and political attacks instead of reflecting on the substance of the cleric’s message. Catholic bishops had recently had an engagement with the president, where the latter defended his record and the independence of the electoral umpire. However, the cardinal in a television interview on Friday said the Catholic bishops told the president that the country is bleeding and the economy is not helping poor citizens. Saraki congratulates Jagunmo on IEYDA appointment 


The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has extended his warmest congratulations to Alhaji Jagunmo Muhammad Uthman on his emergence as the National President of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA). 


Saraki in a statement signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, described the appointment as a round peg in a round hole, considering Jagunmo's distinct qualities and passion for youth and community development.


"Your dedication to youth empowerment, community development and unity has been exemplary, and your leadership qualities will undoubtedly steer IEYDA towards greater heights.


"Your ability to foster progress and development in Ilorin Emirate is deeply appreciated, and your commitment to IEYDA's core values is truly inspiring," he said.


In a press statement signed by Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Press Officer on Local Matters,
