 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Shettima Leaves Nigeria For Côte D’Ivoire


Vice President Kashim Shettima, Wednesday morning, departed Abuja for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.


A statement by Senior Special to The President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha on Wednesday, said Shettima will be attending the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024 conference.


The SIREXE conference is an international event organised by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire that focuses on “Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries”.


The conference will be held from November 27 to December 2, 2024, at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.


“At the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, VP Shettima will utilize the event to share Nigeria’s experience in the hydrocarbon exploration and production sectors.” the statement added.


The vice president is expected to return to Abuja later today.
