 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. TINUBU IDENTIFIES CREATIVE SECTOR AS KEY TO ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION. (PHOTO).

President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence.


The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja.


President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”.


In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications, Office of The Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, under the theme, “Carnival of Renewed Hope: A Pledge to My Country”, the event showcased performances from across Nigeria and beyond, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to cultural diplomacy.


The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, working alongside the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Abuja International Carnival Secretariat, also received presidential commendation for their role in organising the event.


Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Oraelumo Raphael, described the carnival as a unique platform involving Nigeria’s 36 states, the FCT, and participants from around the world. He reiterated the Federal Ministry’s role as the coordinating body and the FCT’s role as host.


The Abuja International Carnival continues to serve as a vibrant showcase of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and a platform for fostering international collaboration and understanding.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
