 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  US to Hold Talks with Israel Over Civilian Casualties in Gaza


Senior officials from the US and Israel are set to meet in early December to discuss concerns over the impact of military operations on civilians in Gaza, according to the State Department. 


The United States has frequently raised concerns with its ally Israel regarding the use of American-supplied weapons in strikes that have resulted in civilian casualties in Gaza. 


However, the US has only once resorted to its strongest leverage — withholding some of the billions of dollars in military aid to Israel.
