3SC 2-0 Kano Pillars : Another Clean Sheet for Mustapha as Akpan, Adams' Goals Dismantle Pillars

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), continued their impressive run of form as they hammered Kano Pillars 2-0 on Saturday.

Bouyed by the heavy presence of their teeming backers, who thronged the Lekan Salami Stadium to cheer them to victory in the matchday 17 encounter, the stars scored a goal in each half to deservedly pick the maximum points.

After missing what could have been the opener in the opening minute of the match, when Olaniyi Fasanmj saw his effort saved by goalkeeper Charles, Tambe, 3SC endured some tortious moments from the visitors.

With the resistance of the defence line of Desmond Ojietefian, Ayodeji Bamidele, skipper Gali Falke and Ikouwem Utin,  complemented by Adebayo Abayomi, goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal enjoyed a good coverage as the visitors swoop on their host.

Barely a minute to the end of the first half, the Oluyole Warriors broke the deadlock when in forn Akpan Joshua nodded in skipper Gali Falke's cross, to give the stars a 1-0 lead at half time.

Apparently not ready to disappoint their backers, the coach Gbenga Ogunbote tutored lads seized the initiative fron the youthful Pillars side.

Second half substitute, Mustapha Adams made sure victory was sealed when his delightfully struck free kick from outside the 18 yard box, beat goalkeeper Tambe for the second goal, thus ensuring a third consecutive win and clean sheet for the Ibadan soccer lords.

The Oluyole Warriors, have with the win, increased their point haul to 27 from 17 matches and will next Sunday, at the cathedral, Enugu, face old rivals Rangers International in a massive matchday 18 fixture.
