 Customer kidnaps Ogun PoS operator’s seven-year-old daughter The family of a seven-year-old girl, Mercy Akande, has raised the alarm over her disappearance in the Sango Ota area of Ogun State. On Thursday that the incident happened on Monday close to where the girl’s mother operated a Point of Sale terminal in the community. It was gathered that a yet-to-be-identified male adult said to be the mother’s regular customer visited the shop, bought food for the seven-year-old girl, and later sent her on an errand to buy a sachet of water. On her return, the customer left the spot and approached her midway in an attempt to collect the water sachet. The nephew of the victim who identified himself simply as Jude told our correspondent on Thursday that the mother sighted both of them at that moment but was distracted by the attention of other customers.  GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT The Edo State Government wishes to recall the earlier ban on unlicensed agents and touts from revenue collection across the State. The direction, which only recognized Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) licensed Agents, was to ensure the protection of the citizenry from any form of extortion as well as safeguard State revenue collection processes from any leakage. 2. Following from the foregoing and for purposes of emphasis, Edo State Govemment has fully resolved that the System of revenue collection in the State shall solely be predicated on the existing template developed by the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) in conjunction with the Local Govermment Councils and the various Associations in the State. 3, On the strength of the above, the State Government has sternly placed a serious ban on direct cash collection in respect of revenue collection in the State. Security Agents have been put on alert and any person or group who decides to flout this directive would be held accountable.
