 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  CDS insists military avoided mistakes and promises probe amid Sokoto airstrikes:


The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has insisted that there was no mistake in the military airstrikes targeted at the members of the Lakurawa terrorist group in Sokoto on Wednesday


A fighter jet bombed two communities in the Silame Local Government Area of the state, killing at least 10 innocent villagers and injuring several others.


The Sokoto State Government claimed that 10 people who lost their lives in the strikes were “innocent villagers.”


However, visiting the North-Western State a day after the incident, the CDS while addressing journalists at the Giginya Cantonment Sokoto, maintains that those killed were criminals.
