 LAGOS RE-INTRODUCES MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE …Governor, Deputy lead State officials to clean up Mushin corridor Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the re-introduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation in the State. The Governor said the exercise will hold every last Saturday of the Month between the hours of 6:30am and 8:30am but without movement restrictions. He stressed that the exercise would be monitored by State officials with appropriate sanctions to be meted out to erring neighbourhoods and markets. Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement during a ceremony held in Olosa Bus Stop in Mushin which marked the symbolic flag-off of the monthly sanitation. The Governor, who led his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and member of the State cabinet on the mission, said the culture of environmental responsibility must be imbibed by the residents across all communities in the state and reflect same in their lifestyle. CHAN 2024 QUALIFIER: HOME EAGLES BEAT GHANA 3-1 TO CLINCH TICKET. (PHOTO).

Nigeria secured a place at the 2024 African Nations Championship following a 3-1 victory over perennial rivals Ghana in Uyo on Saturday night.


The Home Eagles dominated the opening exchanges, scoring three goals within six minutes in the first half.


Sodiq Ismail opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 18th minute.


The right-back fired home after being set up by captain Junior Nduka.


Nduka doubled the lead three minutes later, slotting the ball into the net from inside the box.


Rangers winger Isaac Saviour capitalised on a defensive error by the Ghanaian defence to score the third goal.


Substitute Amankona Stephen reduced the deficit for the visitors 18 minutes from time.


The Home Eagles will return to the competition after missing the last two editions.
