 LAGOS SPORTS COMMISSION TRAINS OVER 80 COACHES  As part of its commitment to advancing sports development, the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), has organised a transformative capacity-building training for coaches in the State.  The training, which had Over 80 coaches in attendance was themed: “Way Forward in Building Our Coach" and was aimed at refining their expertise and enhancing their contributions to the growth of sports in the state. Speaking at the training programme held recently at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Yaba, the Director of the Technical Department, LSSC, Uthman Okunnu, emphasised the importance of continuous education.  Kano State Governor Gifts Christian Groups 20 Million Naira to Celebrate Christmas.


Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has conveyed heartfelt Christmas wishes to Christians, encouraging them to cultivate mutual respect and live in peace. 


He emphasized the significance of unity, love, and brotherhood, noting that Nigeria's advancement relies on promoting harmony among various communities. 


Additionally, Governor Yusuf revealed a contribution of N20 million to certain Christian organizations to assist with their Christmas festivities in Kano.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
