  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Police Detain Human Rights Lawyer Farotimi Over Defamation Charges


Human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Police Force.


The arrest was first announced by Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, via a post on his X account on Tuesday. Sowore demanded Farotimi's immediate release, stating that the police should not be used to settle personal disputes.


Sowore wrote, “It is important for the Nigerian police to understand that the force should not be used for personal vendettas. Citizens will no longer tolerate this misuse of power. We call on the police at Zone 2 in Lagos to release Barrister Dele Farotimi immediately.”


However, Police spokesperson SP Ummar Ayuba at the Zone 2 Command denied the arrest, saying, “We have not made any arrest. He is not in our custody.”


Meanwhile, Ekiti State Commissioner of Police Adeniran Akinwale confirmed that Farotimi was detained on multiple charges, including defamation of character and cyberstalking, with these two charges already fully established.


Akinwale added, “We had been searching for him before we successfully arrested him. We are currently investigating the case, and once the investigation is complete, we will determine his level of involvement.”
