 Anambra Chief Judge, Anyachebelu, Releases 7 Inmates At Medium Security Custodial Centre Awka, Denies Bail To Man “Marrying” his Sister. The Anambra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, has concluded the 2025 annual prison visit at the Medium Security Custodial Centre Awka, where he released seven inmates and granted bail to about seven others, ordering that the trials of those granted bail be continued at the regular courts. Justice Anyachebelu, during court proceedings that lasted for hours, denied bail to a rape suspect, Chukwujioke Ezeibekwe from Ekwulobia, who told the court that he did not rape anyone but “married” and now has two children with his biological sister, as the matter was adjourned to January 20, 2026.  Police Transfer 10 Rescued Human Trafficking Victims to NAPTIP in Kano


The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Kano Zonal Command, has received 10 human trafficking victims from the Kano State Police Command. The victims, aged between 22 and 42, including six females and four males, were rescued on December 7 at a house in Rijiyar Lemu Quarters, Kano, by a police team led by CSP Bala Shuaibu. 


The victims, who were being trafficked to Libya for labor exploitation, are from Delta, Edo, Osun, Ogun, and Lagos states. NAPTIP Zonal Commander Abdullahi Babale praised the Kano Police Commissioner, Salman Dogo-Garba, for his support in the operation. He also assured that the victims would receive counseling and rehabilitation before being reunited with their families. Both Babale and Dogo-Garba urged the public to report suspicious trafficking activities to prevent further exploitation.
