  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Senate Bill to Ban Use of Foreign Currencies in Nigeria Passes First Reading


A bill aimed at banning the use of foreign currencies in Nigeria has passed its first reading in the Senate. The bill, titled "A Bill for an Act to Alter the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, No. 7, to Prohibit the Use of Foreign Currencies for Remuneration and Other Related Matters," was introduced by Senator Ned Nwoko, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation.


The proposed legislation seeks to mandate that all payments, including salaries and other transactions, be conducted using the local currency, the naira. Senator Nwoko argued that the widespread use of foreign currencies in Nigeria undermines the naira’s value and exacerbates the country's economic challenges. He also described the reliance on currencies such as the Dollar and Pound Sterling as a colonial legacy that continues to hinder Nigeria’s economic independence.
