  Chikun/Kajuru Rep, Hon. Fidelix Bagudu, Announces New Appointments To Strengthen Inclusive Governance The Honourable Member representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Fidelix Joseph Bagudu, has announced a wide-ranging list of new appointments aimed at deepening inclusive governance and enhancing representation across the constituency. The appointments, which take immediate effect, were unveiled in alignment with Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani’s commitment to participatory governance. According to the lawmaker’s office, the list reflects deliberate efforts to ensure fair representation of all wards, communities, and interest groups across Chikun and Kajuru Local Government Areas (LGAs). A statement issued by the Media and Publicity Directorate noted that the move also fulfills the Honourable Member’s campaign pledge to integrate every segment of the constituency into the decision-making and governance structure.  Stampede: Organizers of Ibadan Children's Carnival Arrested – Makinde


Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced the arrest of the organizers of a children’s carnival in which an undisclosed number of children were reportedly killed in a stampede.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Governor confirmed the incident took place in the Bashorun area of Ibadan earlier that day.


Makinde stated that the state government has taken immediate actions to prevent further fatalities, including initiating an investigation into the incident. He emphasized that those responsible will be held accountable.


The Governor also mentioned that medical teams and ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, the event has been halted, and attendees were safely escorted out of the venue.


“Earlier today, a tragic incident occurred at Islamic High School Basorun, where an event for families was being held. We have deployed security personnel to restore order and prevent further casualties, while medical personnel and ambulances have been sent to assist. The event has been canceled, and attendees have been escorted off the premises,” Makinde stated.


He also confirmed that the primary organizers of the event, which led to the stampede, have been arrested, and investigations are currently underway.
