 EFCC Commences Investigation of Suspect for Undeclared $800,575, € 651,505 At Lagos Airport  Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigation of one Kavlak Onal, an Austrian national, who was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, on his way to Dubai via Emirates Airline. He was arrested on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for allegedly failing to declare the sums of $800,575 and €651,505 in his possession. While receiving the suspect, the Head, Foreign Exchange Malpractices Section, FEMS, ACE II Adejumo Richard, who spoke on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede, said: “I would like to extend our sincere appreciation and commendation to the Nigerian Customs Service for its outstanding efforts and excellent synergy displayed so far. YULETIDE FESTIVITIES: IGP EXTENDS WARM FELICITATIONS, ASSURES SAFETY ACROSS COUNTRY


Reaffirms Comprehensive Safety Measures.


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., extends heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all citizens celebrating this joyful time of the year on behalf of all officers of the Nigeria Police Force. In this delightful moment to come together with family and friends, to share in love, peace, and the spirit of giving, the NPF wishes everyone safe, joyous, and memorable festivities.


As we commemorate the festive season, it is also vital to prioritize the safety and well-being of all. Therefore, the Force once again reiterates its commitment to ensuring that our communities across the country remain safe as the festivities unfold.


To this effect, the Inspector-General of Police has ordered Police Operatives to remain on heightened alert during the holiday period. Comprehensive safety measures are being implemented, and patrols will be intensified in areas of festive events and gatherings.


The Nigeria Police Force urges citizens to remain vigilant and practice safety precautions.
