A RETIRED SOLDIER ALLEGEDLY MURDERED HIS WIFE AND ATTEMPTED TO DESTROY EVIDENCE IN A GRUESOME MANNER. (PHOTO).

In a shocking incident, a retired Army jawan in Hyderabad allegedly murdered his wife and attempted to destroy evidence in a gruesome manner.

Gurumurthy, a security guard, reportedly killed his wife, 35-year-old Puttavenkata Madhavi, after a heated argument at their home in Venkateswara Colony under Meerpet Police Station limits. Madhavi was reported missing on January 18 after her mother, Subamma, lodged a complaint. According to police, Madhavi left home on January 16 following an argument with Gurumurthy.

During questioning, Gurumurthy allegedly confessed to killing his wife in a fit of rage. He reportedly chopped her body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker to dispose of them. A Times of India report revealed that he boiled the flesh and bones for three days, crushed the bones with a pestle, and then dumped the remains in a nearby lake. Despite extensive searches by police teams and a dog squad, the victim’s body parts have not yet been recovered.

LB Nagar DCP stated that while the husband has confessed to the crime, the investigation is ongoing to determine the truth. Officials are treating the case as a missing person’s case for now since no concrete evidence has been found. Gurumurthy and Madhavi had been married for 13 years and were living in Venkateswara Colony with their two children, who were visiting their aunt on the day of the alleged murder.

Police suspect that Gurumurthy staged the missing person scenario and informed Madhavi’s parents about it to avoid suspicion. Meerpet SHO K Nagaraju confirmed that investigators are yet to find proof of Madhavi’s death.

Further investigations are underway to uncover more details about the case.
