 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Anambra Assembly Speaker Udeze Felicitates With Chief Anyaoku On His 92nd Birthday

The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze has described former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku as a revered diplomat whose service at the Commonwealth fetched Nigeria high regard and recognition among other African countries.


Felicitating Chief Anyaoku on his 92nd birthday, Udeze noted that Chief Anyaoku discharged his duties at the Commonwealth of Nations creditably and was recognized by various organs of the International Community.


The Speaker extolled the advisory roles being played by Chief Anyaoku in Nigeria and Anambra State in particular where he has continued to use his wealth of experience to advance good governance.


He noted that Chief Anyaoku's contributions to the growth and development of the Church of God and his community, Obosi are legendary, adding that even his foreign assignments and engagements could not prevent him from participating in the local Obosi customs and traditions, hence his recognition by the entire Idemili people as "Ugwumba Idemili".


Right Honourable Udeze while praying God to continue to strengthen Chief Anyaoku and give him longevity, enjoined the citizenry to emulate Chief Anyaoku's outstanding personality by striving to make a good name in their various endeavours.
