 Beloved actor Ras Ajai, 47, 'shot dead' while walking down a street A beloved film star and musician has di£d. Ras Ajai, whose real name was Brian Todd Boucher, played JLP political enforcer Claudie Massop in the 2024 film Bob Marley: One Love biopic. He was reportedly shot in Waterford, St. Catherine, Jamaica, at the age of 47. He rubbed shoulders with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they arrived at the movie's Jamaican premiere. Another person is reported to have sustained injuries during the assault, which remains under investigation by St Catherine South Police. Sources say the reggae and dancehall artist, vocalist and composer was walking down a street with a companion on Saturday, August 1, when they were attacked by armed criminals travelling in a vehicle.  Anyanwu Remains PDP National Secretary for Now – Abdullahi


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that Senator Samuel Anyanwu will remain its National Secretary following a stay of execution order halting the enforcement of an Appeal Court judgment that removed him from the position.


Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, stated at a press briefing in Abuja that the party, being law-abiding, must adhere to the court’s directive.


Abdullahi disclosed that the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama issued an interim injunction restraining the party from enforcing the Appeal Court ruling that recognized Ude Okoye as National Secretary. The order was filed by Imo State PDP Chairman Austine Nwachukwu.


He noted, “As a law-abiding party, we are obligated to respect the court order and will defend the party’s position during the hearing scheduled for January 8 and February 5.”


Abdullahi urged party members to remain calm and law-abiding while awaiting the court's final decision. He emphasized the importance of constitutional adherence and warned against falling for political distractions within and outside the party.


He further added, “Our role as the major opposition party should not be overshadowed by leadership disputes. We must uphold the rule of law and maintain civility to avoid unnecessary setbacks.”


The party reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the issue through legal and constitutional means while continuing its duties as the leading opposition in the country.
