 A 14-year-old Ohio girl has taken her own life, and her family believes that social media played a role. Szedi Roush sadly took her own life on Friday, June 12th. The loss of such a young and vibrant life has left the Blanchester, Ohio community shocked and filled with grief as they struggle to make sense of her passing.  Szedi was a student at Blanchester High School, where she was very active in sports and, by all outward appearances, a happy and outgoing teen. However, Szedi's family says there was a side to her kept hidden from her family. Despite being hidden from family, Szedi posted about her feelings  on TikTok. Her father says her most recent post described her feelings, and the method she intended to take her life, garnered over 40 reactions ranging from likes to hearts.  ATBUTH Bauchi Slashes Kidney Dialysis Cost by 70%


The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi has significantly reduced the cost of kidney dialysis sessions, cutting prices by 70% to ease financial burdens on patients.


In a statement issued on Wednesday, the hospital’s Head of Public Relations, Usman Koli, announced that the cost per session has dropped from ₦40,000 to ₦12,000. He highlighted that the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare had provided consumables in bulk and a new dialysis machine to support the initiative.


The hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Yusuf Bara, expressed optimism about the program’s positive impact, emphasizing the government’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare.


Over 45 patients have already benefited from the subsidized services, with kidney patient Magaji Galadima expressing heartfelt gratitude, calling the program "life-changing."


ATBUTH reaffirmed its dedication to delivering affordable healthcare and strengthening public confidence in the system, vowing to sustain and expand similar initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
