OP-ED: “Let President Muhammadu Buhari Rest In Peace” - By Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai  The recent launch of a book on the life and legacy of our late leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, has stirred deep emotions and renewed divisions among those who once formed his inner circle. Having followed the headlines and images from the event, I felt compelled to make a simple but urgent appeal: let us allow President Buhari to rest in peace. A careful look at those who dominated the book launch revealed the same factional lines that existed during Buhari’s lifetime. One camp was prominently represented, while others—equally close to the late president—were excluded. This selective engagement compounded by the choice of location of the event were red flags, and raises concerns about whether Buhari’s legacy is now being shaped to serve narrow interests rather than historical truth. BILLIONAIRE GAUTAM ADANI HAS DISMISSED RUMOURS ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT PERFORMING AT HIS YOUNGER SON JEET ADANI'S WEDDING NEXT MONTH. (PHOTO).

Billionaire Gautam Adani has dismissed rumours about pop star Taylor Swift performing at his younger son Jeet Adani’s wedding next month.

Speaking to the media from the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, the chairman of Adani Group confirmed that the wedding will take place on February 7. Contrary to online speculation, Adani stated that the ceremony will be a simple and traditional affair, attended only by family members.

Recent unverified reports on social media had claimed that Taylor Swift might perform at one of the wedding functions. Posts also suggested that top international chefs, hundreds of luxury cars, and high-tech elements would be part of the event. Gautam Adani, however, set the record straight, saying, “Jeet’s wedding will be very traditional, conducted in a very simple manner. Our way of life is like that of common people.”

When asked whether celebrities might attend the wedding, Adani firmly denied it, reiterating that the nuptials would be an intimate event with just family present. He also shared that Jeet accompanied him to the Maha Kumbh Mela to seek blessings from Ma Ganga ahead of the wedding. This clarification puts an end to the swirling rumours about extravagant plans for the upcoming wedding.

Jeet Adani, the younger son of Gautam and Priti Adani, will marry Diva Shah, daughter of Jaimin Shah, in an intimate ceremony on February 7. Jeet joined the Adani Group in 2019 after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The family has emphasized their preference for a low-key, traditional celebration.
