 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Chadian President Welcomes 'Final & Complete Departure' of French Army


Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno welcomed the "final and complete departure" of the French army during an official ceremony on January 31, Sputnik reported.


He emphasized that the decision to end the French military presence was aimed at strengthening Chad's national sovereignty.


This event marked the departure of French troops after the return of the Sergent Adji Kosseï military base in N'Djamena to the Chadian authorities on January 30.
