 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit Nigeria on Wednesday


China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, is set to arrive in Abuja on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, for an official visit to Nigeria. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and China.


Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, will engage in high-level discussions during his stay. He is scheduled to meet with Nigeria's Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, on Thursday, January 9, for bilateral talks focused on enhancing cooperation, particularly in trade, infrastructure, and technology.


The visit will also include a courtesy call on President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where Wang Yi will deliver a special message from Chinese President Xi Jinping.


The announcement was made by the Acting spokesperson for Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, who confirmed that Wang Yi will be received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed.


This visit is expected to further strengthen ties between the two nations and open new avenues for collaboration across various sectors.
