 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  SANWO-OLU REAPPOINTS SHITTU AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF LASUBEB


In a demonstration of his continued commitment to excellence in education, Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu has reappointed Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu as the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB)  to sustain the ongoing reforms in Lagos State’s Basic Education Sector.


Dr. Shittu, a visionary leader, has been instrumental in driving transformative policies and initiatives that have elevated the standard of Basic Education across Lagos State. 


Under his stewardship, LASUBEB has achieved significant milestones, including improved infrastructure, teachers' training, and innovative learning programmes designed to enhance the teaching and learning outcomes of every child in the State-owned primary schools.


Speaking on his reappointment, Dr. Shittu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue to serve the state. He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising initiatives that align with the State Government’s objectives of providing accessible and quality education for all.


“I am deeply honoured by this reappointment and remain dedicated to advancing Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision of a robust and inclusive education system in Lagos State.
