 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  SANWO-OLU REAPPOINTS SHITTU AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF LASUBEB


In a demonstration of his continued commitment to excellence in education, Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu has reappointed Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu as the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB)  to sustain the ongoing reforms in Lagos State’s Basic Education Sector.


Dr. Shittu, a visionary leader, has been instrumental in driving transformative policies and initiatives that have elevated the standard of Basic Education across Lagos State. 


Under his stewardship, LASUBEB has achieved significant milestones, including improved infrastructure, teachers' training, and innovative learning programmes designed to enhance the teaching and learning outcomes of every child in the State-owned primary schools.


Speaking on his reappointment, Dr. Shittu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue to serve the state. He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising initiatives that align with the State Government’s objectives of providing accessible and quality education for all.


“I am deeply honoured by this reappointment and remain dedicated to advancing Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision of a robust and inclusive education system in Lagos State.
