 STRANDED MENTALLY ILL WOMAN GIVES BIRTH AT AGASHA HEALTH CENTRE, FAMILY SEARCH BEGINS 17th December, 2025     A mentally ill woman has given birth to a baby boy after being found stranded in active labour on the streets of Agasha, Benue State. The incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, when concerned individuals intervened and rushed the woman to the Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), Agasha, where she was safely delivered of the child. Medical officials at the facility confirmed that laboratory tests were conducted on the woman, but noted that both mother and baby now require proper care and support from family members or responsible guardians. Preliminary information suggests the woman hails from Mbakor, Tarkaa Local Government Area, with Wannune identified as her origin.  Gov Sule urges supporters to end 2027 campaigns, focus on governance


Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on his supporters to refrain from distracting him with campaigns for the 2027 senatorial elections, emphasizing his commitment to fulfilling his current mandate for the people of the state.

The governor made this appeal on Friday in Lafia while hosting a delegation of traditional rulers and stakeholders from Akwanga Local Government Area.

He specifically urged those campaigning for his candidacy in the Nasarawa North senatorial district to stop their activities.

Governor Sule reiterated his focus on making the remaining two years of his administration impactful for the state.

“We are doing our best to deliver for the people of Nasarawa State. However, we cannot achieve this if we are distracted by campaigns,” he said. “If you see anyone campaigning for A.A. Sule as a senator, know that they are doing so on their own.”

The governor also advised elected officials from Nasarawa North to prioritize delivering on their mandates rather than engaging in premature campaign activities.

According to Sule, effective service delivery eliminates the need for prolonged campaigns, as a strong performance naturally secures the support of the people.
