 Gov. Ododo’s Executive Proclamation Not State of Emergency  Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo  has clarified that his recent Executive Proclamation on security protocols in the state is not a declaration of a state of emergency but a set of necessary measures to enhance the security architecture to crackdown on criminals in all parts of the state.  This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, explaining that the proclamation is a lawful constitutional measure aimed at strengthening security coordination and protecting lives and property across Kogi State.  Gov. Ododo emphasized that it is within his powers as the Chief Security Officer of the state under Section 14 subsection 2(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). Kano Governor Swears in New Commissioners, Unveils Growth Agenda


Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated seven new commissioners and 12 advisers at a swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House, Kano. The Governor urged the appointees to embrace their roles with dedication and a commitment to advancing the state’s development goals.


Governor Yusuf emphasized that the appointments were made after careful consideration to ensure capable individuals were selected to promote good governance and drive progress.


In his address, the Governor outlined the administration’s key priorities, including:


Enhancing infrastructure

Strengthening education

Improving healthcare services

Empowering women and youth

Expanding access to clean water

Supporting agriculture

The newly sworn-in commissioners are:


Ibrahim Waiya: Commissioner for Information

Shehu Wada Sagagi: Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industries

Dr. Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya: Commissioner for Finance

Dr. Shehu Sani: Commissioner for Power and Sustainable Energy

Dr. Dahiru Hashimu: Commissioner for Environment

Abdulkadir Abdulsalam: Commissioner for Rural Development

Nura Iro Ma’aji: Commissioner for Public Procurement


Governor Yusuf called for collaboration among the appointees to meet public expectations and achieve the administration’s objectives. He reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and addressing the state’s pressing challenges.


The ceremony, attended by government officials, lawmakers, and stakeholders, highlighted broad support for the Governor’s vision and leadership.
