LAGOS TASKFORCE ARRESTS HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER, RESCUES VICTIM

The Lagos State Taskforce has apprehended a hit-and-run driver, identified as Dauda Bello, a resident of Adebayo Street, Oshodi, for reckless driving. The incident, which occurred yesterday afternoon, left the victim, Oluwole Bukola, a resident of Ibafo, Ogun State, severely injured.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by overspeeding and reckless driving on the part of the driver. Swift intervention by officers of the Lagos State Taskforce ensured that the victim received immediate medical attention, while the driver was promptly arrested.

Speaking on the incident, the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, called on motorists to prioritize safety on the roads. “I urge all road users to exercise caution and be considerate of others while driving. Driving is not a race to a destination but a responsibility that requires patience and focus at all times,” he said.

The Chairman assured Lagos residents that the agency remains committed to ensuring law, order and safety on the roads while promoting decorum and accountability for all road users.

The suspect is currently in custody of the Agency and will charged to court in accordance with the law of the State.
