 Ghanaian Church Honors 20 Young Girls for Preserving Virginity The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Wenchi West District, Bono Region, celebrated 20 young girls aged 13 to 16 for maintaining their virginity during a special Thanksgiving service. Organized by the Young Adventist Women Ministries, the event aimed to uphold moral integrity rooted in Christian and cultural values. Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku, Coordinator of the Young Adventist Women Ministries, highlighted the initiative’s focus on fostering self-confidence and wise decision-making among young women. She urged the girls to remain cautious in their friendships and continue preserving their purity, emphasizing their unique beauty as God’s creation. Associate Pastor Andrews Dua Bour Kyereh commended the honorees for their discipline and encouraged them to prioritize education and faith.  More Residents Participate In Amawbia Walk For Life Exercise

The enthusiasm of Amawbia residents in physical fitness has continued to increase since the introduction of the Walk for Life exercise by Hon Chukwuma Okoye.


The 5th edition of the exercise  kicked off from the  Central Primary School Amawbia through major internal roads in the community on December 31.


According to the Sponsor, Rt. Hon Chukwuma Okoye, Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Awka South II Constituency, the annual event is to enhance healthy living among the people, which aligns with the healthy living program of Anambra State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.


He reemphasized the importance of exercise in human life, noting that a healthy body is a healthy mind, assuring to sustain  the initiative, explaining that part of the reason for embarking on the yearly exercise in not only for sports but unity of the town.


Mr. Ebele Nwufo, former President General of Amawbia town and Mr. Emeka Nworah, the new Deputy PG elect, in their separate remarks, thanked Rt. Hon Okoye for keeping to his promise, sponsoring the Amawbia Walk for five years.


Some of the participants who commended the initiative, described it as refreshing and important toward enhancing the physical well-being of the people, noting that it will trigger greater productivity in all sectors of life.


The event featured health check and light refreshments.
