 Prince William and Kate Middleton bring George, Charlotte and Louis to Commonwealth Games for first Scotland public outing Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their three children to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking the siblings’ first official public appearance in Scotland. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 44, attended the sporting event on Saturday, Aug. 1, during their summer break with Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. While in Scotland, where William and Kate are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, the family spent time with Team Wales athletes and their families. The couple also visited SportsAid, an organisation that supports young athletes. Kate has served as patron of the organisation since 2013.  Nigeria Pushes for UN Security Council Seat and G20 Membership at Davos Summit


At the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, advocated for Africa's inclusion in the UN Security Council, highlighting Nigeria’s qualifications to represent the continent. Tuggar criticized Africa's exclusion, noting that 60% of the Council's resolutions impact Africa.


He also emphasized Nigeria’s strategic role in global governance, citing its history of supporting African liberation, soft power through technical aid, and peaceful relations with neighbors. Tuggar made a case for Nigeria’s G20 membership, stressing its capacity to champion Africa's interests, including economic reforms and technology transfer commitments.


The panel discussion, which included other African leaders, underscored Africa’s growing role in global decision-making. Tuggar called on South Africa to support Nigeria’s aspirations for greater representation.
