 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Prince William and Catherine Mourn Death of Tiggy Pettifer's Stepson


Prince William and Catherine expressed their shock and sorrow over the tragic death of Edward Pettifer, the stepson of their former nanny, Tiggy Pettifer. Edward, 31, was among 14 victims killed in a horrific vehicle attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. The attack, carried out by a 42-year-old US Army veteran who drove a truck into crowds on Bourbon Street, left over 39 injured, several critically. Authorities identified the suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, as the lone perpetrator, and ISIS-related materials were discovered in his vehicle.


The Pettifer family, mourning their loss, remembered Edward as a cherished family member and friend. King Charles and Prince Harry have both expressed their condolences privately, with the royal family offering their thoughts and prayers to all affected by the devastating incident.
