 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Court Grants Bail to Three Lagos Assembly Staff Over Alleged DSS Assault


A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted N3 million bail to three Lagos State House of Assembly staff accused of assaulting DSS operatives during a February 17 operation linked to the Assembly’s speakership dispute.


The DSS charge sheet alleges the defendants obstructed officers, spread false information online, and attempted to incite unrest. The charges violate the Criminal Code Act and Cybercrimes Act.


The court set March 24, 2025, for the trial's commencement.
