 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Do not neglect your duties toward children--ASUBEB Chairman urges teachers

The Executive Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, has said that the essence of the second term teachers forum is to have a heart to heart discussion with teachers on the issues affecting teaching and learning in schools, the ills going on in the school system and to profer possible solutions which is aimed to yield to a better society.


The ASUBEB Chaiman, represented by an Education Officer, Melvine Anamaleze enjoined guidance and counselors, teachers not to neglect their duties toward children where ever they may find themselves for their conscience sake.


Mrs. Elizabeth Nwadozie, Head of Service, Department of Academic Services of the LG Education Authority in her remarks said that it is necessary for teachers through the forum to fashion out proper ways to teach and guide the children for the actualization of effective learning, saying that teachers are regarded as nation builders.


"Always remember that when the learner has not learnt, it means the teacher has not taught.


"Dear participants, focus on the teachings to learn and make proper use of what is learned to achieve required result," she advised.


The Ifficer in Charge of Anaocha Local Government Education Authority, Mrs. MaryRose Obunadike eulogised the ASUBEB Chairman, Dr. Nwadinobi for her motivation made the second term teachers forum a reality.


She urged the teachers, guidance and counselors to listen attentively on the various teachings of the event to enable them to learn more skills that will help them to excell in their teaching career.


Mrs. Irene Mgbemena, who came from Ezeani Obidigbo Primary School Neni spoke on the benefits of technology integration to enhance the learning of children.


She said the technology integration includes the use of computers, mobile devices like smart phones, tablets, digital cameras, network software applications, the internet amongst others to teach and make actively engaged in the learning objectives.


Mrs. AmaraChukwu Okpalanze, the Guidance and Counselors Desk Officer for Anaocha Local Government Education Authority (LGEA)and who is from Special School Ejiaka, Neni talked about class room routines and procedures that can be applied to enhance learning.


She said that procedures must be taught and practiced in order to become routine.


"Teaching procedures should be stated in classrooms explaining well, what the learner should do at each point," Mrs. Okpalanze said.
