 LAGOS RE-INTRODUCES MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE …Governor, Deputy lead State officials to clean up Mushin corridor Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the re-introduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation in the State. The Governor said the exercise will hold every last Saturday of the Month between the hours of 6:30am and 8:30am but without movement restrictions. He stressed that the exercise would be monitored by State officials with appropriate sanctions to be meted out to erring neighbourhoods and markets. Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement during a ceremony held in Olosa Bus Stop in Mushin which marked the symbolic flag-off of the monthly sanitation. The Governor, who led his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and member of the State cabinet on the mission, said the culture of environmental responsibility must be imbibed by the residents across all communities in the state and reflect same in their lifestyle.  EFCC Commences Investigation of Suspected Oil Thieves, Six Trucks


The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has commenced the investigation of seven suspected oil thieves and six trucks handed over to it by 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army on Wednesday, 

February 19, 2025.


Major D.R. Okoh , who represented the Commander,  Headquarter 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army at the handing over in Benin stated that the six trucks conveying 45,000 litres each of suspected illegal petroleum products were intercepted by troops of 4 Brigade Operation Wabaizigan at Upper Sakponba and Ologbo, along Benin Sapele Road, Benin City. According to him,  preliminary investigations showed that though they had approval to evacuate waste condensate oil, the trucks were arrested with products suspected to be condensate instead of condensate waste.


Receiving the suspects and the trucks on behalf of the Commission, Usman Abdullahi Nuhu, an deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, said the Commission will carry out further investigation to determine further line of action.
