 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Governor Abba Yusuf Inaugurates Sharia and Zakkat Commissions


Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially sworn in the Chairmen, Commissioners, and Members of the Sharia Commission and Zakkat & Hubusi Commission.


The announcement was made on Monday through a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.


During the inauguration, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the appointments were based on merit, competence, and trustworthiness, expressing confidence in the appointees' ability to discharge their duties with dedication, integrity, and commitment.


He tasked the Sharia Commission with fostering unity among Muslim sects to promote peace, stability, and socioeconomic development in Kano. Similarly, he urged the Zakkat & Hubusi Commission to implement effective alms collection strategies from wealthy individuals to support the less privileged and alleviate poverty in the state.
