 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Governor Zulum Supports Family of Senior Military Officer Killed In Damboa


This evening, His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, received the Theater Commander and Commander of Sector 2 who  presented the family of a senior military officer killed in Damboa last week.


Governor Zulum expressed his deepest condolences to the family, saying the loss of their loved one is irreparable and that, the late officer died a hero, having dedicated his life to protecting the people of Damboa. The Governor also stated that, the government and the people of Borno State are indebted to the officer’s patriotism.


On behalf of the government and the good people of Borno, Governor Zulum presented a cheque of 30 million Naira to the officer’s family. He also assured them of the government’s continued support during this difficult time.
