 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Hit-and-Run Driver Fatally Strikes FUNAAB Professor in Abeokuta


Residents of Ajebo Road Housing Estate, Kemta, Abeokuta, are mourning the tragic death of Professor Oladipo Ademuyiwa, a Biochemical Toxicology expert at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). He was killed by a hit-and-run driver on the newly rehabilitated Kemta-Somorin road on Sunday.  


Prof. Ademuyiwa, in his early 60s, had just stepped out of a cab and was attempting to cross the road when a speeding driver struck him and fled the scene.  


Dr. Ayo Ajasa, Chairman of the Ajebo Road Housing Estate Community Development Association (CDA), described the professor’s death as preventable, blaming the government’s failure to install speed breakers despite multiple community appeals.  


“This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for government intervention to prevent further loss of life,” Ajasa stated. “Despite repeated pleas, no action has been taken to implement necessary safety measures on this road.”  


He urged the Ogun State government to install speed breakers, lorry barriers, and proper traffic signage to curb reckless driving. Ajasa also called for stricter law enforcement, warning that another accident occurred within 24 hours of the professor’s death, proving the road remains a danger to residents.  


“We hold the government accountable and urge immediate action before more lives are lost,” he added, appealing to civil society and the media to amplify the call for safer roads.
