 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. ILLINOIS-AN URBANA HOME INVASION LEAVES A 7-YEAR-OLD CHILD AND A 43-YEAR-OLD MAN DECEASED. (PHOTO).

 Illinois- An Urbana home invasion leaves a 7-year-old child and a 43-year-old man deceased.


Police in Urbana responded to the report of a shooting on the 900 block of Lanore Drive. Once on the scene, police discovered a 7-year-old suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. The child was immediately transported to a local hospital where he unfortunately passed away.


While investigating the crime scene, police soon discovered another victim. A 43-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds near the home. He was also transported to a local hospital where he also unfortunately passed away.


Police believe the deaths are a result of a home invasion. They have not announced if there are any suspects at this time.


Officials are asking anyone with any information regarding the home invasion and subsequent deaths to please call the Urbana Police Department at 1-217-384-2320.
