 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. JUNE 12 ELECTION: IBB ADMITS ABIOLA WAS THE WINNER. (PHOTO).

In a long-awaited disclosure, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Nigeria’s former military leader, has confirmed that the late Chief Moshood Abiola emerged victorious in the historic June 12, 1993, presidential election.


The revelation was unveiled during the launch of Babangida’s autobiography, A Journey in Service, on Thursday in Abuja. 


Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, who reviewed the book, conveyed Babangida’s assertion that Abiola, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, secured both the highest number of votes and the necessary nationwide support to become president. 


Babangida admitted that the decision to annul the election marked the most trying chapter of his personal and professional journey. 


He expressed satisfaction, however, that President Muhammadu Buhari later validated Abiola’s win by conferring on him the prestigious Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) title, an honor traditionally reserved for heads of state.
