 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Labour Party Chairman, Julius Abure, has reiterated the party's commitment to supporting the South-East region's bid for the presidency in 2027. Speaking at a rally organized by Labour Party members from the South-East, Abure expressed no regrets over the party's decision to zone its presidential ticket to the region, citing the unity, industriousness, and fearlessness of the Igbo people.


Abure emphasized the need for the South-East to realign with other sections of the country and prioritize unity to achieve its presidential ambitions. He assured aspirants that the party would not impose candidates on them and vowed to ensure credible, free, and fair primaries.


The Labour Party chairman also noted that the party has no anointed candidate and that members would determine who becomes the party's candidate. He expressed confidence in the party's chances in the upcoming Abuja Area Council election, stating that it would be a contest between the Labour Party and "others".
