 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. The foreign ministry added in a statement that ⁠the U.S. announcement aligned with "the mischaracterisation of South Africa's domestic policies by fringe groups".  LATE MABOKUNRINJE: LAGOS HOLDS VALEDICTORY COURT


The Lagos State Judiciary recently held a solemn Valedictory Court Session in honour of the late Mufutau Mabokunrinje Adewale Sanni, Esq., at the Ikeja High Court, Lagos.


While presiding over the event, the  Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba described the late Mufutau Mabokunrinje Adewale Sanni as a respected legal luminary, whose legacy continues to resonate within the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).


Hon. Justice Alogba remarked, "Mufutau Mabokunrinje Adewale was a quiet, gentle, and courageous man who left indelible marks in the Nigerian Bar Association. His legacy of excellence and integrity will continue to inspire the legal community."


Born on November 7, 1970, in Okun Mopo Community, Eti-Osa Local Government, Lagos State, MMA, as he was fondly called, pursued an illustrious academic journey. He earned his B.Sc in Political Science and LL.B from the University of Ibadan, before being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000. His quest for knowledge saw him further obtain an LL.M. from the University of Lagos, an M.Sc in Political Science, and multiple professional certifications.


A distinguished legal practitioner, mediator, and advocate, MMA, served as the Principal Partner at Sanni M.M.A. & Co. until his passing. His dedication to the legal profession was mirrored in his leadership roles, including Chairman of the NBA Eti-Osa Branch and membership in esteemed professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (FICM).


Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), who was represented by Olamide Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Commissioner for Justice, described MMA as a friend, mentor, and great loss to the NBA. He added that he was diligent, caring, and a loving father whose legacy of mediation and advocacy remains unmatched.
