 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  NELFUND Disburses N20bn for 192,906 Students’ School Fees


The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed over N20 billion in institutional fees to tertiary institutions nationwide, benefiting 192,906 students, the agency announced on Monday.


In a statement from its management in Abuja, NELFUND refuted claims that N104 billion had been disbursed, clarifying that the actual amount stands at N20.07 billion as of February 3, 2025.


The Fund has also provided additional financial support, distributing over N12.8 billion in stipends to 169,114 students, with each receiving N20,000 monthly.


Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, NELFUND assured the public of continuous updates on loan disbursements.


The student loan scheme remains a key initiative of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Established under the Access to Higher Education Act, NELFUND oversees loan applications, disbursements, and recovery, ensuring financial support for low-income students in tertiary institutions.
