  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Nine die as driver rams into truck on Lagos – Ibadan expressway 


Early morning auto crash on Monday has left nine people dead and three others with varying degrees of injuries on Lagos – Ibadan expressway.

The accident, which occurred around 5.30am at Ayetoro corridor of the expressway, involved a 13 people comprising 10 male and 03 female adults respectively.

Chief Route Commander and public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State sector Command, Florence Okpe, who confirmed this on behalf of the sector Commander, Fasakin  Akinwumi, said 09 was recorded killed ( 06 males and 03 females) while three were injured.

Okpe gave the data of the vehicles involved as Toyota Hiace bus marked  UYY165ZY and a truck with registration number DKA244 XC.

She attributed the cause to fatigue and loss of control on the part of the driver, leading into crashing in the truck that was parked by the roadside of the expressway.

“The suspected causes of the fatal crash were excessive speed and fatigue which led to loss of control and the driver rammed into a station truck. 

“The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital mowe while the deceased were deposited at Idera morgue Sagamu.

“The Sector Commander Corps Commander Fasakin  Akinwumi  is  pained over the recklessness of some drivers  for not observing the stipulated speed limit and refusal to obey the 15 minutes rest after 4 hrs journey.

“He sympathises with the family of the crash victims and enjoined them to contact Mowe unit Command for more information about the crash,” she stated.
