 U.S announces visa curbs for some foreign nationals in South Africa Secretary of State Marco Rubio ‌said on Tuesday the U.S. government was announcing a new visa restriction ​policy targeting some foreign nationals ​in South Africa. The policy targets "foreign ⁠nationals who are responsible for, ​or complicit in, the enactment or ​implementation of laws or policies that enable uncompensated land seizures, race-based discrimination, and/or ​the incitement of imminent violence ​against members of minority ethnic or racial ‌groups ⁠in South Africa," Rubio said in a statement. "The South African government has not adequately addressed the ​previously laid ​out ⁠concerns," Rubio said, Reuters reported. Relations between Washington and Pretoria have ​soured since the start of ​Donald ⁠Trump's second term, with the U.S. president criticizing the country ⁠for ​its policies aimed at ​addressing racial inequality.

Trump and daughter, Ivanka among big names at Super Bowl


President Donald Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl on Sunday, and stole the show away from Taylor Swift. He then made sure to mock her about it after the game. 

Trump received a raucous cheer from the Superdome crowd when he was shown on-screen during the national anthem, while the fans booed Swiftimmensely when she was shown on the jumbotron during the game.


Trump, 78, didn’t stick around for long, though. He previously predicted that the Chiefs would win, but by halftime — as the Eagles led 24 to zilch — Trump cut his losses and hit the road early — but not before posting on Truth Social.


 Swift also had to watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, suffer a crushing 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which was the team she grew up rooting for. 

Trump mocked her and the team in a post on Truth Social after the game. Trump credited followers of his "Make America Great Again" movement for the boos.
